π Mazda Cx 5 Touch Screen Not Working
Mike E January 26, 2021. The Mazda CX5 Audio system problems can be caused by bad wires or damaged speakers. Much more commonly though they will be caused by a bad fuse. To get to the fuse box look to the left of the steering wheel look for a small seam or crack along the dash. Using a screwdriver or prybar you will want to pop this open.
I have a 2016 CX-5 that has been working fine for 18 months, and today I started the car and The infotainment system didn't boot up. I had the mazda logo, then after 30 seconds the screen went black and the logo came back on. It repeats this every 30 seconds, and the only thing that works is the volume knob by the controller in the center.
If the Mazda CMU freezes or locks up while driving β or if for any reason you need to reset the CMU β you can reset it without turning off the ignition by pressing the following button combination and holding it for 10 seconds: BACK + MUTE + NAV. I have a North American 2016.5 CX 5 GT with all the fixings. Infotainment OS version 55.00.753 NA. I know there is an all in one software solution on Mazda Revolution forums for a boatload of tweaks these days, but my car is a lease and I don't want to mess with it.
We just picked my wife up a used 2017 CX-5 Touring. She loves itBUT at 38k miles and 6 months out of warranty, Mazda will not fix the touch screen problem. After researching the ghost touch issue, it seems a LOT of folks have had this problem. I updated the firmware to 70.00.352 and it did not help.
UPDATE: with Mazda's new Firmware updates this menu has been completely eliminated, the newest firmware update will allow you to run Google Auto and Apple CarPlay but you'll have to get a module
The infotainment system in your CX-50 IS touchscreen, but only when the car is at a standstill. A lot of people don't even know that it's touchscreen because of this - my dealer's mind was blown when I showed them. This is supposed to be a safety feature, but I don't really get how this is safe considering you can operate it the manual way anyway.
