馃弳 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci Crankshaft Sensor Location
Hi Folks, My gf`s `02 2.0 petrol Mondeo has, so the breakdown man said, a faulty crankshaft sensor. I`ve bought the sensor but have no idea at all where it`s at on the engine! Can someone shed some light on this please! Thanks Lee

Possible causes : An electrical fault in the Turbocharger control circuit. MAP sensor electrical failure. Inspect connectors for signs of damage, water ingress, corrosion, etc. If the code is set at idle renew the turbocharger. If the code is not set at idle investigate faults with the MAP.

It could be that the engine "thinks" that it's overheating, so may just need a new temperature sensor. Another possibility is that the splines on the water pump are faulty, and it's not circulating the coolant properly.

ben1191. The 2005 1.8 TDCI engine is equipped with both a timing belt and a chain. The crankshaft and diesel injection pump are connected by a chain. The diesel injection pump is connected to the camshaft by a timing belt. After 03-01-2008 Ford changed the chain which connects the crankshaft with the diesel injection pump for a so called wet belt.

Often worth mentioning the year of the car as quite a lot changes over the years. Facelift model changes around 2010 for example.
